Leaks are traced and sealed; signs of structural movement are flagged for a structural engineer.

Do this first

  • Keep electrics and extension leads away from any water.
  • Move belongings off the floor and away from damp walls.
  • Photograph where water or damp appears, and note whether it follows heavy rain.
  • Clear gutters and gullies if it is safe to do so.
